Oregon native May Arden has a deep passion for movement and its relationship with music and sound. Having spent nearly two decades practicing music as an opera singer, training in and teaching movement, breath work and Alexander Technique, May’s classes are rooted in functional movement with an emphasis on strengthening the core and releasing the breath.
Growing up in the Columbia River Gorge, May is an avid skier, snowboarder, kiteboarder, cyclist, mountain biker and hiker. It is her favorite thing to hike up a mountain on a wet, windy day to hear the songs in the trees or the music on the water. Having spent years singing in New York City, her connection to music combined with her training and background as an athlete and movement instructor allow her to offer classes that are soulful, sweaty, and profound.
